How the cash will be spent
The first million....
About £500,000 will be spent on X-ray equipment used to carry out coronary angiograms, where pictures are taken of the blood flow within an artery, to put in pace-makers, which help control abnormal heart rhythms, and specialist devices for heart failure which help synchronise the heart beat.
Approximately £50-70,000 will be spent on equipment to monitor the patient's heart beat, blood pressure and oxygen levels while the procedures are taking place.
There is a possibility of about £50,000 being spent on a tilt table service, which is a specialist test used to detect causes of fainting.
The rest will be spent on amalgamating cardiac services, including Coronary Care, which is currently situated in a mobile unit at the top of the hospital.
The second million will be spent on a possible future build to house all the facilities under one roof.
