Gary Croft's 130-mile Help For Heroes ride
On Saturday, former Mariners left-back Gary Croft, 35, Marine Wayne Sanderson, 33, and Paratrooper Matthew Jones, 33, will be cycling from Whitehaven to Sunderland.
They hope to complete the coast-to-coast challenge in just one day.
Mr Sanderson works in the gym at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, where he has been raising funds for Help For Heroes for a number of months.
As reported, the personal trainer has been raising money ever since his close friend Joseph Townsend lost both his legs in a mine blast in Afghanistan last year.
He was just 35 metres away from him at the time.
In August, Mr Sanderson organised a 517-mile run on treadmills at the leisure centre, with several people contributing, raising around £2,600 for the charity.
Help For Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country.
