A HUMBER IT support company is to create up to 25 new jobs as it embarks on a major programme of expansion.

Intrasource has taken on eight new staff since managing director Claire Jacques and chairman John Collings bought the company following a management buy out (MBO) last summer and is continuing to expand.

"Organisations are placing contracts with us because they know we are able to look after their IT requirements all day, every day, all year round and that we will always go the extra mile to keep their systems fully functioning."

In line with its expansion, Intrasource has strengthened its business development team and is looking to gain more work with public sector organisations, particularly local authorities who will require more IT outsourcing due to further cuts in their budgets.

Intrasource is also planning to refurbish its Hessle head offices to provide additional facilities for staff and clients, and the company is making a significant investment in technical accreditations and staff training to ensure it is at the forefront of the latest IT developments.

Mr Collings said: "IT is a rapidly changing environment.

"For example, we have seen the emergence of cloud-based computing and Apple making inroads into the business community.

"There is also an ever-increasing need for secure data storage to protect the very livelihood of a business and in response to this, we have invested heavily in software that enables us to monitor our clients' servers and warn of any viruses or hacker attacks."

Intrasource provides IT support for 7,500 people employed by 50 companies in the UK, Europe and South Africa. Service users are set to expand to approximately 10,000 during the coming year.
