“Looks like this may amount to significantly less than the alleged £22,000. However, she is being prosecuted.
Tony Hunter, Chief Executive of North East Lincolnshire Council is responsible for £millions of fraud but does not face justice for his part in it all..

"It will indeed be interesting to see precisely how much she has actually 'defrauded' .
Though I doubt the GT will report it if it turns out to be a figure they can't splash all over the front page.
I just have one question: No job, no money, no prospects .. bills to pay .. Just what ARE people supposed to do?"”

This is outrageous! Alleging that the chief executive profits from the theft of the taxpayer. This can't be said without adding he's a professional deceitful liar.”

"Is there any hard evidence of the alleged crimes?"

You could begin with taking a look at this to accustom yourself with one aspect of the way North East Lincolnshire council defrauds its residents.
Replace the private bailiff firm "E.qu'i,ta" in the article with "R.sse'nda.les" to align the abuse described more accurately with NELC. Then consider that officers at the council including the chief executive give people the brush off and keep crime covered when fraud is reported.
This will be a start to understanding how the CEO is responsible for defrauding £millions from North East Lincs residents.”

“Oh dear!
I fear Big-Hat-Harry has got something there with his comments.
Still, look on the bright side. I don't think you pay Council Tax, and you'll not get any visits from bailiffs in the Big-House. Well! When I say you'll have no interference from bailiffs, I mean not for collecting unpaid council tax at least.
P.S. Then again, on second thoughts I might be wrong:

"Those are really serious allegations, and to make them here seems tantamount to libel. I shall be very surprised that the GET allows it. Is there any hard evidence of the alleged crimes?"
Just consider for a moment why the council or none of these private bailiff firms have brought any prosecutions for libel.
They wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Your more likely to see the firms bosses going to jail, and that goes for all the chief executives of local authorities who would be dragged along with them. The last thing they'd want is to attract more attention to themselves. The police would be brought under the spotlight too, the Home office, the Ministry of Justice, the Department for Communities and Local Government, HMCS the list goes on and on and on....”
“WOMAN ACCUSED OF £22K BENEFITS CON
http://tinyurl.com/cfr5ewg
A FRAUDSTER from Grimsby is accused of claiming more than £22,000 of benefits she was not entitled to, a court heard.
Xxxxx Xxx, xx, of Xxxx Xxx, Grimsby, started claiming benefits legitimately after splitting from her husband, Grimsby Magistrates' Court was told.
However, the couple were later reunited and moved back in together but she continued claiming benefits as a single woman.
Graham Pressler, prosecuting, said: "There is no complaint about the original application, she and her husband had separated and an application was quite properly made for benefits.
"It appears the offences lie when Mrs Xxxx didn't notify the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the local authority of her change in circumstances following a reconciliation."
The prosecution claims the amount Xxxx received fraudulently amounts to more than £22,000.
Xxxx admitted three counts of benefit fraud, including failing to notify the DWP and North East Lincolnshire Council of her change of circumstances between May 2009 and December 2011. She also admitted making a false statement to obtain benefits on September 1, 2011.
Jade Taylor, mitigating, said further investigations were needed to calculate whether Elshaw or her husband may have been eligible for some other benefits at the time.
She said: "It would seem Mrs Xxxx or her husband would have been entitled to some benefits, such as Working Tax Credits, during this time, which would reduce, perhaps significantly, the £22,000 my client is said to have over-claimed."
Miss Taylor asked the court to adjourn the case for six weeks so that an expert can recalculate the amount Elshaw is said to have claimed fraudulently.
She was released on unconditional bail and will next appear in front of magistrates on October 17.”
