Motorists gearing up to fight 'joke' car parking penalties
MOTORISTS are gearing up for a fight against "ridiculous" parking penalties – as more fined drivers come forward.
As reported on the front page of Monday's Grimsby Telegraph, residents living on the corner of Highgate and Sandringham Road, in Cleethorpes, have received £35 fines by North East Lincolnshire Council's new parking enforcement officers for parking vehicles on disused land – the same spots they have used for decades.

The reason is because they have to cross double yellow lines to get there.
The latest to be fined is Andrew Greenfield, 45, of Sandringham Road. who has used the area to park for 18 years before be built a drive.

When he was fined, he claims he was forced to park on the land because a van was blocking the entrance to his driveway.
Mr Greenfield, a warehouse worker at ConocoPhillips, has refused to pay the fine and hopes his neighbours – like Mandy Wesley, of Highgate, who was also fined, as reported – will not back down.

Time is rapidly arriving when the roads will be too congested and people who don't have the facility to get cars off the road and on to their property will be compelled to get rid of them, so that people like me with plenty, can continue to drive and park. Those people who don't meet the requirement of off road parking will be forced to use public transport, bicycle or shanks pony to get around, which is how it was not so long ago. Using a car isn't a necessity or right for those who can't garage them and soon the scrap yards will be booming.”

You can be forgiven for thinking that Billy2 Cars' name implies he has a car. However I happen to have deciphered the make-up of his name.
I'll explain.
Billy2 was chosen because although the comment cannot be seen now due to it being removed, there was a poster with the name Billy Car.
Now; as he didn't want to get confused with Billy Car he chose the name Billy2 Cars.”

“Well i like the idea of people getting it in the neck for parking just where they feel.
Walk down many a street and spot the double yellow line parkers and the park on the pavement parkers, these are ignorant morons who deserve every ticket they get.
Also because a thing has been done for years does not mean it is right and proper to do it.
I wish i was a parking enforcement officer , the tickets would fly out.
