This is Grimsby

IF you are gagging for jokes, you are in the right place!

As reported, every Friday the Grimsby Telegraph becomes your one-stop shop for great jokes.

And it is up to readers to pick their favourite funnies by visiting www.thisgrimsby.co.uk or www.this grimsby.co.uk/getreading as part of the Grimsby Telegraph's As Easy As ABC literacy campaign.

The young comic who has collected the most votes will win a reading voucher and a certificate.

After year six pupil Brendan Anderson, from Nunsthorpe Community School, won the vote last week, we will now be looking at Woodlands Primary. Here are their jokes.

Joke A: "Knock Knock."

"Who's' there?"

"Howard."

"Howard who?"

"Howard you like to be out here?"

Cameron Croft, nine, Year Five.

Joke B: What do you call a fish with no eyes? Fsh. Daniel Croft, 11, year six.

Joke C: What do you call a man who has just lost his car? Car-loss. Tealon Reynolds, 10, year six.

Joke D: What do you call a couple of robbers? A pair of nickers. Chloe Usher, 11, year six.

Joke E: What do you call a deer with no eyes? A no I deer. Tayla Avis, 11, Year Six.

Joke F: A mum gives a boy a pocket calculator for his birthday. The boy says: "I don't need a pocket calculator. I know how many pockets I have got." Alexandra Elsby, nine, year five.

Back row, from left, Daniel Croft, Chloe Usher, Callum Cartwright and Taelan Reynolds. Front, from left, Alexandra Elsby, Cameron Croft and Tayla Avis.

The joke page has been kindly sponsored by communications and marketing expert Stuart Pearcey MCIPR, who runs Words And Spaces Ltd and www.words man.co.uk

Rob Beel, headteacher at Woodlands, said: "As Easy As ABC has had a good start and I think it will get even better as it carries on."

"You have got to give children a reason for doing something, be it reading or writing.

"Children should enjoy learning and that is where things like jokes come in."
