Goodbye Calvin
A FAMILY united in grief is shown on this front page just a day before Mother's Day.
Yesterday, the Saunders family had to say goodbye to 17-year-old Calvin – his promising life snatched from them in a night-time car accident in central Grimsby almost two weeks ago. He was a passenger in the car, with three other young people.

Tears for family members including mum Sarah Caster, twin brothers Ben and Liam, and dad Dave.
In a moving tribute to her son printed in the Telegraph shortly after his death, Sarah Caster spoke endearingly of her "self-confessed mummy's boy". Tomorrow she must go through Mother's Day without him, his funeral just two days earlier.
Hundreds of people attended the funeral of 17-year-old Calvin Saunders at St Michael's Church in Grimsby.
Please, if you are a young person READ this article. Or, if you are a parent, SHOW this report to your children. If any good can come out of this tragedy then it is the stark reminder to others as to the terrible dangers of young people getting into cars and taking risks.
We do not know the circumstances surrounding Calvin's death... but what we do know is that it involved young people in a car, in the early hours of the morning, unable to see the danger they could be putting themselves in.
Please readers, do not let other mothers suffer what Mrs Saunders must undoubtedly be suffering now.
Calvin's funeral was held at St Michael's Church yesterday and attended by hundreds of mourners.

“As has been said, nobody has pointed the finger at who or what caused the accident however, statistrics show that young male drivers are more likely to have accidents however, I do not think the article will do any good because at 17 you think you're invincible or will never happen to you. Until attitudes change - things aren't going to improve.”

“I don't know what happened but I suspect the GT is simply responding to rumours about the circumstances of the death. If the GT mentioned nothing at all about that in the report then it could be accused of not being even handed. No specific accusations were made in the article so there isn't really anything to be offended by.”
