“Well done to DC RUTTER for serving his full 30 years as an honourable and exceptionally capable police officer. It takes great effort to maintain the knowledge and respect that you have obviously achieved and have been a major asset to the police, especially in the GRIMSBY area so the public should be pleased about that. This is no doubt why you've been able to retain employment within the force because you have the wealth of knowledge that is hard to find nowadays. YOU earn't and paid for the majority of the deserved pension, so be proud of that. You will always get people that are jealous of success so ignore the negative comments. If everyone knew you, there wouldn't be any negative comments. Congrats for staying in the force, again- another asset to the public and you will no doubtedly be an inspiration to new employees, with your amount of experience and knowledge gained from your 30 years!!”

“Yes TW, it is indeed a JUICY pension. What other scheme allows you to draw a FULL pension after 30 years? What other final salary pension gives you two thirds of final salary? And although 11% is paid from wage deductions, the rest is made up by the police force (from my tax money). Then to land a cushy number with his current employers?? Nice.
For the rest of us who aren't in final salary pensions, or for those who a fed up to the back teeth of poor policing and false statistics, it is a very bitter (yet juicy) pill to swallow.”

“No wonder people can't find positions as police civilians when they are given to retiring police on full pensions. Was the position advertised to the public at all?”

“Let me first of all offer my congratulations to Dc Rutter on completing 30 yrs service to this community. To those who whinge about 'juicy' pensions let me just remind them that those pensions are bought and paid for with 11% of their salary which currently amounts to £300 per month. It's like a savings account. Alan has saved his contributions over 30yrs and now it's time to get paid, and I say good luck to him. Let me ask those who criticise, what percentage of their salary do they contribute? And all this in addition to tax and N.I. contributions, Alan has probably paid to keep several unemployed people going for years! And as for another job, why not? I'm sure he went through the same application & interview process as anyone else. Well done Alan !..... Good luck and enjoy!”

“Wishing you well Alan in your new role and also well done on the service you have given to the force - to reiterate Padge Al you are a true gentleman, a few could learn from you..Ian and Ricardo. Before negative commenting you should realise not everyones financial circumstances are the same when they retire, never assume. As for letting someone else have a go, you make it sound like they just gave him a job (yeah just like that) - come on now a little harsh and totally without foundation me thinks.”

“After 30 years serving the public DC Rutter has earned his retirement and his pension. However a full police pension is more than enough to fund a comfortable retirement so does he really need to take this civilian post which could otherwise be filled by someone who needs a job and the income more than he does?”
