​THE new Principal of Franklin College took his  first look around the college at a meeting yesterday.

Trevor Wray, who was Deputy Principal at Longley Park Sixth Form College in Sheffield and will take up his new post in January 2010.

As reported, he replaces Peter Newcombe, 60, who has run the college since it opened in 1989.

Mr Newcombe retires this month.
