VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with a community beach access project.

The Coastal Access for All team will be removing built up sand from footways between Skegness and Winthorpe this week.

The group ensure footways are accessible for wheelchair user and mobility scooters.

Paul Marshall, a volunteer with the group, told Skegness Town Council that in some areas, the sand is three feet deep.

He said the group will be using a Bobcat over three days and they would like volunteers to help clear sand and litter during Easter, May Bank Holiday, July and September.

Mr Marshall said to the councillors: “If you hear any groups wanting to do environmental work in the area, there is plenty of work to be done.”

The next community beach clean event is from March 21-24.
