Cleethorpes woman 'inappropriately touched' by Jimmy Savile calls for full inquiry
A CLEETHORPES woman has called for a thorough and comprehensive investigation into Jimmy Savile after telling the Grimsby Telegraph how she was "inappropriately touched" by the disgraced star.
The woman, who did not wish to be identified, said the investigation into claims of sex abuse by the former TV presenter should examine incidents throughout Savile's long career.

She recalls meeting Savile 21 years ago and her feelings of disgust when he touched her inappropriately.
The woman, now 47, told how she had travelled to Peterborough with her sister to hand over a cheque to Savile for the Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The £500 had been raised by a social group in Cleethorpes, by holding cake stalls and games for young people.
The woman said Savile approached the two sisters and touched her on the knee, poking a finger through two buttons on her dress.
She said: "I reacted at the time. It was not bad enough for me to challenge him or go and tell someone from the BBC, but when I think about it now, maybe I should have done so.
"I knew at the time what he was doing was wrong, but I did not feel the need to do anything about it immediately. If he had put his hand nearer my bottom, I would have said something.
"I acted appropriately and moved away, and we went to have our photograph taken. I just thought he was being a dirty old man."
The woman still has the letter signed by Jimmy Savile, who died a year ago aged 84, thanking the group for the cash, and a certificate.
A photograph of the two sisters presenting the money to the celebrity was taken and she has kept a copy in a photo album.
The woman said: "I don't want to have to look at it ever again.
"I feel bad about it now. Why did no one do anything about his behaviour at the time?
"I feel something should have been done about his behaviour then. There are so many people reporting what he did to them and he has got away with it.
"His name will be blackened forever. For what he has done to children, you feel bad. But then there was all the money he raised. You feel sorry in that way."
Police have begun an investigation and interviewed managers at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, where Savile raised funds, and other charitable organisations the presenter supported.
The police investigation is expected to span 60 years of the broadcaster's career after scores of complaints were made about his sex abuse behaviour covering several decades.
Culture Secretary Maria Miller said the allegations against Savile had "wide-ranging implications for a number of public institutions".
She has rejected calls for an outside inquiry and confirmed the BBC was conducting three separate inquiries.
There have also been calls for him to be stripped of his knighthood, but the Cabinet Office has revealed that individuals cease to hold the honour after they die.

I was feeling so unsteady on my legs I nearly fell into a freshly-dug pit.
Imagine my surprise when an elderley gentleman hauled himself right out of the very same pit!
He had the nerve to brush against my arm, slightly.
I recall the incident quite vividly, now. It's all flooding back.
"What a cheek!", I thought.
"Are you a drunken fisherman, home from the Banks?", I demanded to know.
"Now then", came the assertive reply. "I'm a miner, not a fisherman .. or was, at any rate. And my Dad knew Mr Bevin, who put us boys to work. He never really wanted me, you see."
"Oh, that explains it then", I mused, "and also your strange Sgt Pepper shellsuit garb, with matching gold medallion". (I was using the term "matching" somewhat loosley.)
"Now then, now then", chuntered the strange apparition
.. before opening up a lid below ground level, and easing himself back into the oaken casket beneath, as mysteriously as he'd first emerged.
"The World will hear from Me again!", he muttered disconsolately, as he disappeared from view.
I thought nothing of it at the time - it was North Yorkshire, after all
- but now I realise it might have been none other than Mr James de Sadville.
Or could have been it Vlad the Impaler, from across the Moor ? Or Dr Fu manchu, even ?
Anyroad, I was only a young leveret at the time - far too young to have had so much to drink, really - and found the whole episode quite unnerving.
It was wholly inappropriate behaviour, really, when you think about it, all these months later
- so can I have £250,000 please ? I'll shut up, then .. till the newspapers come along.”

“At 26 years old this woman should have been more than able to deal with the inappropriate behaviour, and it certainly would not qualify as child abuse or indeed a criminal offense, unless of course the woman is a vunerable adult perhaps with learning difficulties. She has said nothing that has been reported that would indicate the it was a child protection issue.
Disclosures like the ones this woman has made, are only likely to minimise anything that did happen that was a child protection issue and confuse the whole issue and make investigation more difficult, especially considering there may be further people out there who could have colluded and aided saville.
I really do not understand why this woman has come forward now with this sad tale,unless she is seeking attention, neither do I understand why the telegraph has chosen to print this”

“am curious at what the 'victims' of this aim to get from it. After all he's dead, so there's no punishment to him that will bother him (only his family now) and that word 'compensation'; guess his estate has been divided up now and anyone living who's received anything won't want to return it and guessing much will have gone to charities and no 'legal person' will 'attack' a charity/trust for personal gains!”

“If this did happen then I think you are part of the whole problem that is this mess. At 26 you should have and probably did know what was going on and could have spared other youngsters the distress that went on after your alleged incident so you are partly to blame. I personally do not believe 98% of this media hype.”
