Well-known pub to be restored
ONE of the Wold's best known pubs is set to be restored to its former glory.
The Salutation Arms, on the A46 – which closed last year – has been bought by villager Jo Parsons.
As reported, it had reopened briefly last year, but closed again, leaving those living nearby fearful that last orders had been called for the final time.
Jo Parsons is a partner in Market Rasen catering firm an restaurant, Jossalls, in Queen Street.
She said: "I have bought the Salutation and after re-cleaning and redecorating will reopen it in September. "I plan a major refurbishment before next summer and my plans are for a dining area and a village shop to be part of the complex.
"The brewery put the pub on the market very quickly and the purchase has all gone through. I did not want to see it close."
