This Is Grimsby

A tax that nobody wants

Friday, June 05, 2009, 09:00

ISN'T it now the time for this discredited, unscrupulous government to hold or try to hold an open honest review on scrapping or lowering the BBC's bloated, unjust TV licence fee?

As we all now know, this TV fee is only an evil poll tax for all the overpaid millionaires in this overcrowded corporation.

This money-grabbing corporation should be forced into the competitive free market and put on par with all the other media, radio and TV channels, which exist without financial public aid whatsoever (ie licence fees).

This television tax is a tax nobody really wants but our holier than thou government still insists we still pay it.

Maybe we should all try to do what our politicians get away with – put our TV licence fees on their expenses! Imagine the outcry.

Ronald Jillings, Petchell Way, Grimsby.
