These lifts are past their sell-by-date
I received a phone call from Olive Tyson on December 24 informing me that the lift had stopped working. I phoned Shoreline and was told they were hoping to have it repaired by Christmas.
I said I hoped it would be because there are quite a few elderly and disabled people who live in the flats, and to expect them to walk that flight of steps is not very fair.
I am a little bit annoyed that it hasn't been fixed, and I am becoming increasingly concerned for the residents who are becoming imprisoned in their own homes.
I also want to know what Shoreline is going to do about the recurring problem of these lifts breaking down. These lifts need major investment. They have been in there since the 1960s and they are now past their sell-by-date.
