“Good on you, it'd be nice to see the imp actually bing used and enjoyed.
Slightly surprised how people can judge it before it's even open though. I know it's been in many hands in the past but give it a chance...think positive...This attitude might be just what the imp needs. I've lived a few doors down from the Imp for years and when I moved in many people said I was an idiot for moving close to the imp but I have to say it is very rare you see trouble from the place.Children s far as I'm aware have not been allowed in, there's a shelterd extension for families who wish to take their kids.
I have had more trouble from the little chavs who insist on egging windows and shouting abuse.
Good Luck Mr Wright (and sort the drais out hehe)”

“Blimey! Why cant people be pleased that someone wants to take over the pub. I would rather that than see it boarded up or levelled. I was a landlord for 15 odd years and I know exactly what Ian and Emma is facing. I want to say good luck to the pair of you.
Lets be positive about Grimsby for once.”

“Referring to comments.. yes I have been in the Imp, and I have seen the place decline over 45 years.. so I do actually have a foundation for my comments. I remember the off licence there and the atmosphere after and before matches etc. There are NO similarities between the then and the now. George.. you stand in defence of the 'nicest people', could that be that you have a blasted great big pair of rose tinted glasses on ? or is it a pair of beer goggles ?
Level it.”

“The Imp is the legendary pre match watering hole. There is no coincidence that Town crowds are half what they were ten years ago. When the mighty nariners return to mediocrity it will thrive again”

“Liza have you ever been to the Imp? Or are your comments based on its reputation?”

“liza ,outathere, so you think the imp needs levelling then, i wonder how old you are to come up with those comments , i haven't used the imp for the last 2 years ,but thats nothing to do with the clientelle, but prior to that it was my local for well over 20 years and i have to say the clientelle old and young have been and lots still are some of the best people you could ever want to meet, we where and still are one big family as the songs says " we will laugh and have a sing song , such a happy crowd are we , were all pals together were minors of the IMP"”

“think this type of pub has seen its day , but good luck ian, have used the imp over the years and find the comments by liza offensive and certainly wide of the mark .”

“Good luck to Mr Wright ! That place in my opinion needs levelling.....never been a place where a self respecting person would feel comfortable due to the type of clientelle that have gravitated there over the years.
They are the SILTof the earth, and not the SALT of the earth they think themselves to be.
I really hope you dont open a 'childrens' room in there, a sadder sight hard to find than selfish boozer's children draped around a solitary bandit, or running around the car park.
Good luck Mr Wright - you wil need it.”
