IN response to the letter from B Bell (August 14), the unwary reader might feel that Mr/Ms Bell has proved a point based on science.
Inspection of the National Grid website reveals that Prosyma Research was just one of 47 groups to write in to the Grid's consultation.
I won't bore readers with the technical bits, but there is a lot more to consider than wind versus nuclear (I think all agree fossil fuel prices are going sky high).
Smart gadgets to switch electricity using equipment on or off depending on the state of the grid. Small gas fired combined heat and power stations on buildings. Clever innovations using less electricity in homes, and people changing their behaviour.

Prosyma Research thinks that nuclear is the future.
It mentions energy efficiency but once in 32 pages. Nuclear waste is not mentioned once.
Please, if people are going to write into the letters page can they quote a balanced selection of sources!
