Letz Zep
Grimsby Auditorium
THE mothership landed at Grimsby auditorium on Saturday night.
Letz Zep, dubbed "the most authentic Led Zeppelin tribute band" rolled into Grimsby for the first time and did not disappoint.
A packed Auditorium waited expectantly as the four-piece imitated Messrs Plant, Page, Jones and Bonham.
With an almost eerie likeness, the band managed to fit all the favourites of the great band's 12-year career and lead guitarist Chris Cawte handled the movement and ability of the great Jimmy Page with ease. This, coupled with the mesmerising vocals of Billy Kulke, the superb rhythm section of Steve Turner (bass) and the energy of Simon Jeffrey (drums) made for a special night.
With an audience spanning all age groups assembled, Letz Zep carried through all the classics including Black Dog, Kashmir, Going To California, Whole Lotta Love and many more.
The spell binding Stairway To Heaven made the hairs on the back of the neck stand up and the amazing drum solo of Moby Dick by Jeffrey was complemented by the superb encore of the Immigrant Song. Truly magnificent.
