TODAY we are appealing for you to let us know what you think is great about Grimsby following an Internet gaffe from panto star Chesney Hawkes.

The One And Only – who is starring in Jack And The Beanstalk at Grimsby Auditorium – has publicly apologised after making a "joke" about Grimsby on social networking site Twitter.

He came under fire after he posted panto phrase "Oh no it isn't" under a poster proclaiming "Grimsby – worth a second look".

However, he immediately apologised after a complaint from a fan, tweeting: "It was a panto joke! I love Grimsby. Sorry if I offended you. I assure you I didn't mean to."

He told the Grimsby Telegraph: "It was light-hearted and I apologise to anyone who was offended by the caption.

"I will be changing it to 'Oh yes it is', which is what I should have written in the first place.

"I have been staying in Cleethorpes and I love both areas."
