Cleethorpes restaurant has a new owner

Saturday, November 14, 2009, 06:30

A CLEETHORPES restaurant is vowing to go from strength to strength under a new sole owner.

Mohamad Kayali was previously a business partner at Boaters Beach Restaurant, on the Promenade, with owners Mick and Alison Taylor.

Mr and Mrs Taylor have now left and Mr Kayali is the sole owner.

He has a team of 25 staff members, including manager Rose Mcgovern and supervisor Leah Britteon, working with him.

As reported, the restaurant was officially opened by HRH Prince Charles in January 2004, costing a six-figure sum, and also has an upstairs dining area, called Marbella.

Both dining areas have a five-star health and hygiene rating from North East Lincolnshire Council, as reported.

Mr Kayali said: "There have been a few people phoning the restaurant because things have changed, asking whether their deposit is safe for their Christmas meal and asking if we would be closing.

"The answer is no, we are not closing – we are very much open as normal and business will continue as normal.

"It is an exciting time and there won't be many changes at all; we want to continue doing as well as we always have."
