Hollywood movie star to visit Grimsby
Austin Powers and Celebrity Big Brother star Verne Troyer is making an appearance at the newly-opened LA Club, on Grimsby's Riverhead, tomorrow.
Hot on the heels of Eastenders actor Robert Kazinsky, who appeared at the official opening of the new venue, on Friday, Hollywood actor and stunt performer Verne – who is known for his distinctive 2ft 8inch height – will meet and greet clubbers.
Born in Sturgis, Michigan, Verne worked at American food chain Taco Bell from the age of 16 until he was 21, before moving to Texas with friends.
He got his first break in showbiz in 1993 as a stunt double for a nine-month-old baby on a film called Baby's Day Out.
Verne is best-known for his role in the hit Austin Powers films as Mini-Me, Dr Evil's pint-sized assistant.
He has also had roles in Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas and The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus.
On Saturday, superstar DJ Alister Whitehead will play at the club.
He has performed for Cream and Ministry Of Sound, and has been on the club scene for 10-years.
Alister has achieved four gold albums in the last five years, and has remixed tracks for Robbie Williams and Natalie Imbruglia, among others.
His weekly radio show on Galaxy is now achieving the highest listener figures on the station.
