Marching Mariners planning reunion

WERE you a Marching Mariner?

Former members of Grimsby's historic marching band are hoping for a reunion to mark the group's 30th anniversary.

Formed in 1979, the Marching Mariners Youth Show Band was established for the young musicians of Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

Together they travelled far and wide over the years, performing at the official opening of the Humber Bridge at one point receiving an audience with the Queen.

The band also performed at countless local events and met many famous TV celebrities, including Johnny Briggs, better known as Coronation Street's Mike Baldwin.

The reunion is planned for Friday, December 4, at Grimsby Rugby Club, on Springfield Road.
