JUST one week after starting their diets, our successful Telegraph Slimmers are already feeling lighter – nearly 1.5 stones lighter to be exact!

As reported, these five brave ladies have taken up the challenge to coincide with today's launch of our brand new Telegraph Slimmers website.

And despite the Christmas party season, they have each managed to stick to their respective plans and shed the pounds.

At the weekly weigh-in at Oasis Health Club, nutritionist and partner of Aqua Viva Health Emma Lynn was impressed with the results.

Emma, who will be on hand to offer helpful advice to visitors of www.telegraphslimmers.co.uk, said: "Everyone has lost some weight, which is fantastic especially because Christmas is a notoriously difficult time of year to even think about dieting.

"Not only have they not put any weight on over Christmas, they've managed to lose nearly 1.5st between them!

"It just goes to show how determined they are and that the plans really do work."

Julie Hostad (52), of Fords Avenue, Healing, lost 2kg – 4.4lb – on the My Way plan.

She said: "I've also lost 1.5 inches off my waist so obviously I'm very chuffed.

"It has been difficult with it being Christmas, but I've managed okay and I'm really pleased with myself."

Sheila Patrick (67), of Grimsby's Yarborough Road, lost 4.4lb with the Just Me plan.

She said: "I've had a lot of invitations out to Christmas lunches and buffets this week, which has made it harder.

"But I've still managed to stick to it and because my social life keeps me so busy the plan allows me to be flexible in what I eat."

Schoolteacher Sarah Worrell also lost 4.4lb with the Busybee plan, which allows her to plan her menus like she plans her lessons.

Sarah, of Filey Road, Grimsby, said: "It's been a challenge with it being Christmas, but next week when I'm back at school it should be much easier. I know I will do even better next week."

Katie Ligertwood (27), of Grimsby's Baytree Avenue, also lost 4.4lb on the Family Friendly plan.

She said: "I haven't had much me time this week, but I've found drinking water with every meal helped.

"Knowing that I'm doing this with the Telegraph has really spurred me on – there's no going back now!"

And on the Socialite plan, 45-year-old Paula Marrows lost half a kilo (1.1lb).

Paula, of Glebe Road, Scartho, said: "I was a bit of a late starter as I only had my gym induction recently.

"But now I know I can come to the gym to work out I know I will find it much easier to shed the pounds."
