Woman's fight for life after being hit by train
The incident, which was reported to police at 11.52am today, occurred at New Clee Railway Station, Thorold Street, Grimsby.
British Transport Police (BTP), Humberside Police and the local ambulance service all attended.
A BTP spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a woman has been injured after being struck by a train at New Clee Rail Station.
“The train involved was the 8.55am Manchester Airport to Cleethorpes service.
“The woman, whose injuries are believed to life-threatening, has been taken to hospital.
“The incident is being treated as non-suspicious and the line was handed back to Network Rail at 12.41pm.”
The woman’s age and identity has not yet been revealed, although an eye witness said she appeared to be in her mid-twenties.
