Two new names for store

GRIMSBY shoppers will have more choice as Dorothy Perkins and Wallis are set to offer their ranges within Freshney Place’s Bhs store.

Bhs will sell the concessions from mid-February.

Manager Denise said: “It’s good to see money being invested to transform our store. The staff are really excited about it.”

Floor-to-ceiling fixtures are currently being installed to display the new ranges.

Dan Voakes, from Dorothy Perkins, said: “This is just what Grimsby needs.

“In the long term, having the opportunity for more ranges available here will make it easier for customers to shop, because there will be less need for them to travel further afield – what they’re looking for will probably be on their doorstep.

“If they’ve been shopping in Hull, for instance, then they won’t have to pay for the petrol or the bridge toll, so that’s a considerable saving.”

The move also eases pressure on space in Dorothy Perkins in Baxtergate, which Dan plans to use to increase the size of the in-store shoe shop and the new non-clothing department.

“This will mean Grimsby will have two new Dorothy Perkins stores,” he added.

Freshney Place director Amanda Austin welcomed the plans.

“These changes move Freshney Place forward and reinforce our position as the shopping centre of choice for the people of North East Lincolnshire,” she said.

“We are delighted to have this inward investment, and look forward to seeing increased visitor numbers to the centre as a result.”
