Be a winner in love

Tuesday, February 09, 2010, 06:30

LOVE is in the air with Valentine's Day just around the corner, but how are you celebrating it?

This week, the Grimsby Telegraph is going romantic following the news our fantastic Win A Wedding competition is back.

As reported yesterday, we are offering one lucky couple a fairytale package worth thousands of pounds.

From a hen night and the bride's dress to the rings and a magician at the reception, we have thought of everything – with a sumptuous civil ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening party at the Ashbourne Hotel, part of the Oak Ridge Hotel Group.

But we are not revealing all yet – Win A Wedding will be officially announced on Sunday at the Lincs Wedding Exhibition at Grimsby Auditorium.

And that's not all – why not declare your love for that certain someone in public by placing a Valentine's ad in the Telegraph for free? There are so many romantic gestures you can make ... so how are you marking the occasion?

In the first of a series of Valentine's articles, our reporters took to the streets to find out what people are doing on February 14...

Brian Gutherson, of Louth: "I am going away with my wife Elizabeth on Valentine's Day – for the first time ever. "We are going to Bournemouth. We booked it and then realised it was also Valentine's Day, and we are looking forward to it."

Christine Petronzio, of Cleethorpes: "It's my husband's birthday too, so we'll be going out for a meal."

Marie Peck, of Cleethorpes: "I'm working, unfortunately."

Debbie Cooper, of Grimsby: "Staying in – God I'm romantic aren't I?"

Caroline Fagg, of Cleethorpes: "I'm going to The Beaches for lunch."

Steve Page, of Grimsby: "I'm doing nothing, to be honest!"
