Three parked cars damaged in Cleethorpes hit-and-run collision
POLICE are looking to trace the driver of a car who is believed to have been responsible for damaging three other vehicles in Cleethorpes on Saturday.
The cars were damaged at around 4am when a vehicle travelling along Glebe Road hit a parked car with such force that it was shunted into another parked vehicle which, in turn, hit another car.
The three cars – a blue Vauxhall Astra, a grey Ford Focus and a white Fiat Punto – sustained significant damage. One of the cars was left bearing green/lime green paint which is believed to be from the bodywork of the offending vehicle.
The driver of the car which caused the damage did not stop at the scene and failed to report a collision. It is suspected the vehicle will have substantial damage to its front side and driver’s side.
Police are asking the public to keep a look out for a green or lime metallic green coloured car which has been damaged and to report its registration number and whereabouts to police on the non emergency number 101, quoting log number 198 of 18 August 2012.
Alternatively, anyone who witnessed the incident and has any information which may assist in tracing the vehicle and driver is asked to contact police using the details above.
