“Last April I had cause to complain to NELC regarding potholes and after a great deal of chasing I managed to get a response from a Mr Steve Whittles,Highway Maintenance Manager who stated that any potholes over 40mm deep are prioritised for repair and went on to say that the road are inspected every month and any necessary repairs carried out.
Well I think that reply was a load of 'BOLLARDS'. Either the inspections have ceased or the inspectors have poor eyesight. Like many other residents I could show Mr Whittles potholes that are over 40mm and very dangerous. These pothloes have been in evidence for months.”

“YES YES YES Driving me potty.
The last resurfacing was done on cheap, disgusting abortive roads everywhere you go in Grimsby and Cleethorpes. Think it is about time we all started to query where all the money is being spent cos it is not being spent in this area.”

“The one at the junction of Rosalind Avenue and Littlefield lane is through the tarmac, the concrete, and the hardcore underneath! Well over three inches, more like six!
Instead of us having to report them, after a spell of freezing weather the council should be going round CHECKING!”

“Report potholes and anything else to the council on http://tinyurl.com/65x6kr so we can all see what is has been reported!
Check out what has been reported in your area by typing in the post code.
You should get a reply from the council within a week (not just an automated reply) - if you don't then you need to complain about it!”

“Always been under the impression pot holes 3" or deeper seriously affect a vehicles steering control, can damage suspension. Is there not a Council Policy on road repairs? Does it not state that pot holes over a certain depth (when reported) are to be repaired as a matter of urgency ie: within 24hours. (Be aware taxpayer a photograph of the said hole may be requested, including proof of the depth, so tape measures at the ready to prove the depth otherwise it is possible that your complaint will not be upheld resulting in the pot hole not being acccepted for urgent repair).”
