Still raising a chuckle
THE world of children's TV came to the Grimsby Auditorium when the Chuckle Brothers, stars of BBC's ChuckleVision, returned.
To celebrate the completion of their 21st series, this one-off tour is an opportunity to look back over the years and involve their fans in "An Audience With" style show.

The Chuckle Brothers, Barry, left, and Paul, who performed at the Grimsby Auditorium.
There was plenty of quick fire humour and word play while confusion was only ever one-step away – a hilarious tongue twisting routine involving the names "Hoo" and "Watt" even reduced the stars to fits of laughter.
Naturally, there was plenty of slapstick humour and the old wallpapering routine proved as popular as ever, while we all got wet as the cast rampaged through the audience with jumbo water cannons.
During the second act, children had an opportunity to put questions to their heroes and they wanted to know had they been naughty at school, did they play practical jokes on each other off stage and which was their favourite ChuckleVision episode.
Paul and Barry patiently answered all of these with humour while introducing film clips of favourite routines from their career.
Four youngsters also got the chance to join them on stage and play the To Me, To You quiz, which not only required general knowledge but also dexterity as they juggled boxes and vibrating bumble balls.
The unpredictability of children offered the answers of F as being the capital of France and May as being the shortest month of the year – logical when you think about it – both were deemed correct!
The Chuckle Brothers know what makes children giggle – certainly whoopee cushions and slightly naughty words – but they also throw in song and a little magic courtesy of the duo Safire.
It's a winning formula and however old we are, we always remember our childhood TV stars.
