ENJOY the taste of delicious wine while looking for love – and raise money for charity.

A Valentine's wine tasting evening is being held at Houlton Wines, of Scartho, giving you the chance to taste a unique selection of six rose, white and red wines and 10 per cent of sales will go towards Nations Together charity.

The mingling event takes place on Cupid's favourite day of the year – Tuesday, February 14, at 7.30pm.

Laura Cox, manager of Nations Together, hopes to raise money for people in extreme poverty in Tanzania.

Laura, originally from Grimsby, said: "This will be a fun evening for singles to mingle and for couples to enjoy.

"The money will go towards a good cause, because we can't even relate to the poverty in Africa.

"I lived out there for six years, and they make their homes out of plastic bags.

"We want to build women and children a house for support – we want to bring them out of the poverty circle."

Mike Hewitt, the owner of Houlton Wines, has more than 20 years of experience in the wine industry, not to mention many official qualifications.

He said: "My favourite wines have to be a Rioja, Chablis and rose Santa Digna.

"I think a good wine doesn't depend on the price, it is if you enjoy it personally.

"I can give you expert advice and information that many supermarkets can't give.

"We supply premium wines, with some exclusive to our shop.

"Most younger people start off with enjoying a light white wine or rose and then move onto a light red wine."

The specialist wine store on Edge Avenue, in Scartho, also supplies Valentine hampers which can be posted to your loved-one's address.
