It was originally founded as the Young Wives Group by a Mrs Bradshaw, the wife of the minister at the time. The group later evolved into the Ladies Circle to encompass older women too.
Committee member Joan Longbottom said the group has always been well attended.
"We have always maintained a steady support," she said.
"All ladies are welcome. It's a great opportunity to meet new people and socialise.
"It's also a chance to get out of the house. The group is usually a bit of fun, there is always something going on and there's something for everyone."
Fellow committee member Ann Conn said: "It's always fun and always interesting.
"The club's activities include bring and share suppers. raffles and interesting talks by invited guest speakers."
And Joan added: "Everyone get the chance to discuss their ideas. We always need new ideas, new people for speakers, new events.
"We hold a meeting in May to discuss the success of the previous year and plan for the next. Our activities reflect what people want."
Any woman interested in the group's activities is welcome to attend meetings, held on alternate Wednesdays.
The next session is Wednesday, October 10, from 7.30pm.
