Interest shown in site of Lindsey Lower School building
INTEREST has been shown in the Lindsey Lower School building – but a buyer will take at least three months to find, the property agent has revealed.
As reported, the old school building, in Cleethorpes, which closed in 2007, went on sale for a guide price of £750,000 to £1 million with commercial property agent Scotts last week.

The property, which sits on a 3.5-acre plot, is owned by North East Lincolnshire Council and strategic partner Balfour Beatty, who will retain the school field at the rear for future sport provision for schools.
Lawrence Brown, a partner at Scotts, says that the property had already been viewed by local interested parties.

The company has also begun advertising the investment opportunity nationally and expects the campaign to yield even more interest.
However, Mr Brown said that it is likely to take at least three months to find "the right buyer".
"With an investment opportunity such as this, it is not as simple as finding someone to make an offer and pushing a sale through.
"We need to make sure that the property has had enough exposure to the market so that the right kind of investor is aware that it is for sale.
"It is our job to make sure that we sell it to the right party for the right price, and that we don't get a better offer the next day.
"For some properties, two to three weeks might be enough time and for others, it could be a year to 18 months.
"We are continuing to advertise this property nationally and it is attracting a lot of interest, but it will need to be available for at least three months before we can be sure it has had the exposure it deserves."
Any interested parties are asked to call Lawrence Brown or Ed Chisholm at Scotts Property LLP, on 01472 267000.

“More spin from Nelc / agents to raise the profile of this building - just remind us how successful both have been in selling ex Nelc properties in recent years ?
Yes we are in tough times the property pages show us that but properties do sell if they are priced correctly - just remind us of how well the sale of the tourist information centre is going please ?”

“Would make really nice affordable flats for first time buyers in a lovely building with a bit of character.
They could have put the Salvation Army building in the old Eleanor Street School instead of leaving it the rotting eyesore it is now.”
