Youngsters net awards at club presentation evening

BUDDING Andy Murrays and Roger Federers were honoured at the St James Tennis Club Junior Awards evening.

The event was held at the club on Friday, December 4 and was its first official junior awards. It was an extremely successful evening due to the progress St James has made with its juniors in recent years.

The main award winners on the night were 17-year-old Phil Nicholson and 15-year-old Charlotte Todd, who were named the Most Improved Players.

Thirteen-year-old Liam Fox received the Best Attitude Award, while 11-year-old Dominic Batey picked up the Hardest Worker Award.

The Most Committed Player Award went to five-year-old Harrison Tute, while Lucy Ellis, nine, and Sam Munnings, aged 12, also received the same award.
