“The usual selection process at GTFC is to make a list of ex players and then decide who should get the perk! This was and should still be the most important position in the club but has never been treated as such otherwise we would not be floundering in the conference.Pele08 is spot on The best applicant should be engaged not a "popular"choice Now we are at our lowest operating level .a position we hold due to the influences of most of the suggested candidates it is time to rid ourselves of the of the ex GTFC image and employ someone with a successful track record in this field 'We could cut the managerial staff by 50% to accommodate.the right candidate Oh for another Tom Casey who had a championship quality team of ex youth players something we seem unable to do in what is league 5 The cheap options have now had their day .”

“Suppose they might move Buckley to Youth Team and appoint a new under 17s manager, which could be Macca.”

“Please, please, please go for the best person/coach and not just the biggest name. The role requires much more than simply coaching 15 youth team players every morning, it surely involves overseeing the entire youth setup including recruitment, retention, facilities, links to other clubs, links to local clubs, training, administration etc etc etc. Macca may well be ideal but the club needs to choose very wisely, the club needs stability and not just someone who is using it as a stepping stone. Alan Buckley, Adam Smith, Neil Woods, Stuart Watkiss - I don't know but one thing I do is that some of the most successful youth setups have a Head of Youth position filled by someone people have hardly heard of.”
