Duchess of Cambridge visit: Austin Mitchell's wife sees Kate Middleton clothes shopping ahead of arrival in Grimsby
ONE person who will be keen to see what the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing when she arrives in Grimsby on Tuesday is Austin Mitchell's wife.
Linda McDougall spotted Kate Middleton going virtually unnoticed while shopping in Topshop in London's Oxford Street on Wednesday afternoon.

ROYALLY PLEASED: Linda McDougall with husband, Grimsby MP Austin Mitchell.
Now Linda – who will be in the official welcome party when Kate arrives on Tuesday, as well as meeting her at Havelock Academy – is looking forward to seeing if the Duchess is wearing her new purchases. And she's not the only one who is excited about Kate's visit, with a TV crew from France making the journey to Grimsby for the historic occasion, and well wishers set to camp outside the Fishing Heritage Centre ahead of her arrival.
Linda, who popped into Topshop on her way back from a BBC radio interview, explained how the brief meeting took place.

She said: "I was looking at some neutral coloured canvas jeans and there was one other woman there with me. When I looked up, I realised it was Kate.
"Just to make sure, I checked and immediately noticed three young men dressed in casual kit all on their own but each watching us carefully.
"I made a hasty decision not to introduce myself as I didn't want to spoil her fun.
"I went on with my shopping and so did she and nobody else spotted her at all because they were all too busy looking at the clothes.
"Just to make sure, I asked an assistant to find me something and then asked her to confirm it was Kate. She did and said that nobody else had spotted her but they had all been told to act naturally!"
When Linda left the shop, Kate was still shopping away and had her arms full of clothes in cream and khaki.
She was wearing a sheepskin coat that she is often seen walking her dog in, as well as a pair of jeans and boots.
She added: "I will be meeting Kate on Tuesday so I plan to remind her of our meeting and ask what she bought."

“What a pathetic story. This is interesting because?? Who is this Linda McDougal anyway, apart from being the wife of an MP who does absolutely nothing for Grimsby! As if she is going to "remind" Kate of their meeting and ask her what she bought. Seeing as she didn't "introduce" herself to Kate (you were very lucky there Kate), why on earth would Kate remember her? I'd tell her to mind her own business! I guess there are many people who see Kate shopping from time to time but they are not desperate enough for publicity to go to their local paper for a so-called story!”

“This article is the pits and has really attracted support, not!
When Kate goes to the heritage centre, what will be the explanation for the sunken ship?
Is it an icon representing the NELC, sunk without trace and beyond bailing out!”

“You call this news? The only thing worse than this would be the "princess" meeting the dreaded Austin himself.”
