Tuesday, January 06, 2009, 15:18

Singer Amy Winehouse has dropped plans to appeal against a drugs conviction in Norway.

Amy will now accept her fine for illegal possession of marijuana in 2007.

Amy's lawyer said the singer and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil decided drop the case after "a careful review". He refused to give reasons for the decision to withdraw the appeal, which had been set for a hearing on January 12 in Bergen.

Amy and FBlake were arrested in the western city in October 2007 on charges of possessing 7 grammes of marijuana.

They were released after paying fines of £300 each, but appealed later.
