LOUTH businesswoman Christine Smith is hoping to put the icing on the cake for one lucky couple on their wedding day.

Christine, 52, who runs Yum Yum Wedding and Party Cakes, is offering a wedding cake worth up to £150 for our Win A Wedding competition.

As reported, the competition has been launched by the Ashbourne Hotel in North Killingholme and Pronuptia in Grimsby, offering one lucky couple a dream wedding worth more than £13,000.

Christine said:"I think it's a brilliant competition. To see the sponsors providing all this for the winning couple is wonderful, and I'm very excited to be a part of it."

Christine set up the business almost a year ago, after more and more of her family and friends asked her to make cakes for special occasions.

She said: "It all started about 18 months ago when I made a cake for my granddaughter's birthday, and it's become a paying hobby."

Christine, who worked for 12 years as site administrator at the ConocoPhillips gas terminal at Theddlethorpe, said: "It gives me an opportunity to express my creativity and I enjoy baking. I've realised a talent I never knew I had.

"I do birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and it's great to be able to make somebody's day that bit more special."

Taking part in Win A Wedding couldn't be easier. . All you have to do is nominate someone – or yourself – and explain in fewer than 200 words why your choice deserves to win. The next entry form for you to do this will be printed in Monday's Grimsby Telegraph.
