A northern Lincolnshire town has been voted the least romantic place in the UK!

Okay, so we knew it wouldn't be Grimsby - as we're all loved up - it's Scunthorpe that is a no-no when it comes to love.

“What more romantic name is possible other than GRIMSBY?
    The Bags Ball Centre.
I shall not wish to be part of V.D. day (14th Feb) as I took part years ago!
I thought S.T.D. meant Subscriber Trunk Dialling.
    My Doctor told me otherwise.”

“In 1997 I took my wife, who was born and raised in Southern California, on vacation to England. We stayed with friends in Oxford but took a couple of days detour to NE Lincs. She wanted to see where I was born and grew up. After a whirlwind tour in a rental car showing her "all the sights" she looked at me in shock and said "I can see why you left".”

“As if anybody would go to Grimsby for a "romantic" weekend!
Roll up... enjoy fine cuisine down Freeman Street!
Take romantic strolls along Alexandra Dock and enjoy the shopping trolleys dumped in the water, a bright green slagheap where a fine boat was, and two sunken boats!
Propose to your loved one in sight of Victoria Mills, the dole office and the phone exchange!
Take photos and have your collar felt by local community support officers informing you that photography is not allowed!
Enjoy a midnight stroll through Nunsthorpe or The Grange!
Go clubbing in the postage stamp called Gullivers!
Get mugged in Grant Thorold Park!
Dig the sights down Oxford Street, Ladysmith or Cleethorpe Road!
See Britain's biggest car park in the aromatic Pyewipe!
Go explore the World famous docklands only to be turned away by security because it's a no go area!
Have your every tiny move scrutinised by CCTV in Top Town and Freshney Place!

Yep... pure Grimsby romance for you.”
