One of the strongest correlations I have seen is between sun activity and temperature. You know the sun, that massive bass of nuclear fusion in the sky making up 99.86% of the matter in the solar system, bubbling plasma with non-stop explosions giving off sufficient energy every second to power the U.S. for 9 million years. Sure it's 93 million miles away but enough to give you 3rd degree burns after only 30 minutes exposure!

Wouldn't it be odd if it turned out that it was that that was changing the planets temperature rather than the an additional 6.8% man made greenhouse gasses on top of the naturally occuring background levels?”

What exacty are you trying to say Russ?

Look, I agree the new religion of 'Green' has damaged this country and things like the making of multi-millionares from exploiters of wind farm subsidies is outrageous.

But you cannot argue that global warming as part of climate change is not real! It patently is and has been occuring for millions of years.

Is it man mane, probably not!. But it would be naive to think we have not contributed to natural climate change in any way, given that we have in the last 50 year chopped down half of the world forests and used half of its stored carbon.

I don't think the 'green' agenda in the UK will help one bit, especially with China, India and Africa chasing the 'developed' world down with respect to energy demand.

Climate change will contine regardless of what we do. But the effects of climate change natural or not, WILL effect all of us and has been doing....and we will adapt but it will not be without disruption and suffering.

HOWEVER. We live on a planet of limited resource and currently no where else to go. Humans are the only species on the planet who alter their environment to exploit it and therfore do not live in balance with natural resources. The planet is overpopulated and being over exploited and will at some point start to buckle under the load if we do not attempt to conserve what we have left.

Will we do it NO, there will be wars, famine, poverty.....but the EARTH does not care - humans will die out and the earth will eventually sort itself out again!

So what the hell eh? - may as well crack on right?”
