FURTHER to Peter Chapman's comment "A bridge too far for villagers" (July 19), yes, we have the historic Packhorse Bridge but we also have another "bridge" across the A16 – the Utterby people.

Come to Utterby on Saturday morning to the café in the Parish Rooms, come on a Sunday to table top sales, come on September 9 to our Heritage Open Day, come to our Christmas Tree Festival, which runs from December 1 to December 9.

What you will find is a group of dedicated people from both sides of the A16, united in raising funds to update both the Parish Room and St Andrew's Church and keep them open.

We are far from divided and if the villagers want a logo, they will decide what to put on it.
