Duo attend Variety Club Showbiz Awards in London

A PRIZE-winning couple experienced a surreal evening of glitz and glamour in the showbiz world – meeting the likes of Sir Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Kelly Brook.

Daniel and Louise Tuck, who live near Barnetby, couldn't believe their luck when they won two tickets to this year's swish Variety Club Showbiz Awards in London – after entering a Channel Five competition.

They attended the black tie charity event at the luxury Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane earlier this month.

Louise, 31, said it was "like a dream".

Having been snapped with a host of stars, from pop sensations The Saturdays and Pixie Lott, to American Beauty actor Kevin Spacey and funny man Justin Lee Collins, it really was a night to remember for the lucky pair.

Daniel, 35, said: "I had entered the TV competition and when Channel Five rang up to say we had won my wife didn't understand.

"When I explained to her she was really excited and we had a fantastic night.

"At one point I was in the toilet and one side of me stood Patrick Stewart and on the other was Sir Ian McKellan. I'm a comic fan and all I could think of is that I was stood between Magneto and Charles Xavier from X-Men, it was quite amusing.

"We thought there would be thousands of people there and we wouldn't really be able to speak to any of the stars, but we chatted to tons throughout the night."

Louise joked that another good thing about the night was that her husband has only ever worn a suit at their wedding.

She said: "We had dinner before we watched the awards ceremony and the food was brilliant.

"The whole night was so surreal.

"It was great to meet Justin Lee Collins, I think he's hilarious, and I also had my picture taken with Martin Kemp, as Spandau Ballet performed on the night.

"Kelly Brook looked amazing, she was absolutely immaculate, she is one of Daniel's favourites and for a moment I thought I was going to lose my husband!

"It was such a great night and so strange to then go back to work as a shop manager on Monday morning, having been a part of the showbiz world for a night.

"I still can't really believe we were there."

The televised event, hosted by impressionist Jon Culshaw, was aired on Five last night.
