Opening Gate to Europe and beyond

AN art gallery is branching out to take the region's talent to Europe and beyond.

The Gate Gallery, on Grimsby's Brighowgate, is home to 12 of the top artists in Grimsby and now its owner, Vicky Hartung, is hoping to get more exposure for them – and to show the world the talent North East Lincolnshire has to offer.

She said: "We have some great talent in North East Lincolnshire and at the moment, people can only really see it by visiting the gallery.

"We want to be able to not only show the people of North East Lincolnshire what talent we have by working with businesses in the area to hopefully get artwork into public places, but also take the artists work further afield so that they get the recognition they deserve.

"We are going to the Affordable Art Fair in London in March for the second year running and hopefully we can forge a reputation for the region's artistic talent."
