ARE you smarter than this two-year-old?

Brainy Grimsby tot Beatrix Townsend has just become one on the youngest members of Mensa – the high IQ society.

With an IQ of 136, Beatrix, of David Street, joins celebrities Carol Vorderman, Adrian Moorhouse and Sir Jimmy Saville – who are within the top two per cent of the most intelligent people in the country.

Beatrix herself is in the top 10 of the group's youngest members, much to the delight of her proud mum Zoe, dad Wesley and big sister Antonia, 10.

Zoe said: "We couldn't believe it really. We knew she was bright, but it is still a shock."

To find out more about Beatrix's brain power – and test your own intelligence by taking a Mensa mini-test – pick up today's Grimsby Telegraph.

Beatrix Townend, two, has become one of the youngest members of Mensa.

“My son is also a member of MENSA and had an IQ score of 141 at age 3. He was reading words at 9 months old. You might see him featured on the "Your Baby Can Read" informercial.”

    “Bronny, Grimsby
The truth is that this area seethes with jealoousy and resentment, at times so bad, it sticks to the soles of your shoes.
The lesson here should be that the mother shoul have quietly fostered her child's growth and development without seeking to ram her inate advantages down everybody else's throats.
There is no way in which the success of others can ever be celebrated or even simply enjoyed in this area.
The locals are so dim, they can only support and console each other over the dire performances of the local football team and that's as far as their empathy can stretch.”

“the test types vary due to the age of the subject. The IQ tests are a mixture of mathematics basic and advanced, logic theory, shape recognition, word association and the like. I two year old may not be able to recognise a range of prime numbers, but there are are tests to assess this logic train for a child. I would hope an application around languages would be best for children with a gift for retention, the options are then endless, your career can take you anywhere in the world. Lucky child, better to be lucky than rich as they say .......”

“Soo many negative comments, but then that comes as no surprise.
Why can't folks be pleased to hear of such a bright little girl.
I do however worry that she will struggle in local schools, sadly bright children get set about by the majority of knuckle draggers, I agree with the very first poster, on the whole in this area "proud to be thck" is the motto
It's nice to know there is a "little star" to shine amid the white lightening swigging. dope smoking rabble that infest this area”
